I first saw this video in a workshop on environmental issues done by Pita White here at the university. I found it to be a very comprehensive way to explain the effects of industrialization to students.

Thanks for posting this great video! I’m a big fan of the environment, and it’s unfortunate but I know that using my reusable shopping bags and taking my bottles to Sarcan is not enough to save the planet. Technology is a double-edged knife, because although computers are helping to reduce paper waste, as the video mentions, technology is becoming increasingly disposable. Moreover, this is done on purpose to increase profits! The whole system is flawed, and I’m glad you shared this video- perhaps it can inspire some change.

Hey Sharlene!
This video definitly enforces what I was talking about in one of my blogs ‘The Newest=The best’…And after watching this video, part of me wants to boycott the process of technology advancing so rapidly, but they other part of me knows that, although our society would not know how to function any longer without it, we have a responsability to inform our students about how they can make use of what is available to them, and to prepare them for living in a world that uses it.
Great post!
PS…pita is awesome!
